This is a recent kitchen refurbishment we carried out in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire just south of the Chiltern Hills and around 20 miles from the centre of London. Around 20 years old it was the first time since its installation that it had been repainted. After 20 years of hard wear and tear it was in quite poor condition and in need of a major refurbishment.
As you can see from the photos the MDF had quite a bit of damage mainly caused by water running down from sink. When MDF becomes exsposed to water like this it swells and spoils the paint film. This is one of the most differcult jobs in refurbishing and hand painting a bespoke kitchen to get it back to a showroom finish. Paul C Barber and his son Paul have the skills and the knowledge that is required to carry out this work and after over 30 years of working across the shires have carried out the refurbishment to 100s of bespoke kitchens. To produce a showroom finish like this there are no short cuts it take time and a lot of preparation before any painting can commence. On this particular kitchen the work took around two working weeks to complete and will be Guaranteed with our standard 2 years against fair wear and tear .
The Completed Kitchen definitely had the (WOW) factor finished in our preferred furniture paint brand Tikkurila in a semi matt finish mixed in an eqvilent colour match to Farrow & Balls Lime white. As the name suggests an off white with a hint of green. The darker green on the walls was a perfect contrast a great choice by the clients.
