Hand Painted kitchen Aylesbury Buckinghamshire Kitchen Cabinet Painting

This oak kitchen was refurbished and hand painted in 2019, it was in the village of North Marston in the district of Aylesbury Vale, The name Marston is a common one in England  and is Anglo- Saxon for farm by the marsh. We were recommended to paint the kitchen by friends of the clients who’s  kitchen we had refurbished earlier in the year. It was Lacquered Oak and was in very good condition but was looking quite dated as the oak had darkened over the years.

We offer a free colour sample service to our clients and on this kitchen refurbishment the client took advantage of this and after sending a few colour sample boards they chose the  lovely shade of Blue as a feature on the base cabinets and light grey to the wall cabinets. The most important  stage is the preparation  we first remove all the doors and drawer fronts which are then taken back to our workshop to be completed,  Firstly we clean down with a degreaser all the furniture,  We then sand down all surfaces using our dust free sanding system.

The Festool Dustless System is from Germany and in our opinion the best money can buy.

Paints we use for kitchen furniture Painting

We normally use Tikkurila furniture paint, The primer we use is brilliant for adhesion and also acts as a stain blocker, this will stop any chance of the wood tanning,  We make good to any holes, cracks or dents that need filling. We complete with two coats of Tikkurila furniture paint mixed in any colour you choose,  it can be mixed in a satin or Matt finish, most of our clients pick from the Farrow & Ball and Little  Green paint Library colour ranges that we have colour matched in Tikkurila eqvilent colour matches, they are always a very good colour match. We only use the best products because we want your kitchen to look good for many years to come, we have been back to paint kitchens for clients after 10 years and they are still looking as good as the day we completed them, The clients just wanted to update the colour and change there handles.
