Our oak kitchen which had been fitted 13 years ago had darkened from the original ash finish had turned to a dark dark. The upheaval of having a new fitted kitchen was not too appealingly, so we were so pleased to discover Paul Barber's website and to find out that he did the hand painted kitchens for the leading kitchen supplier in Northampton. The results are stunning, not only does the kitchen look new and finished to an extremely high quality Paul also agreed to paint a sideboard and base of the matching oak table. We have saved thousands of pounds and believe we have a kitchen which is customised to our own taste and colours . Paul is so helpful and is now going to work on some chairs for us. We can highly recommend his services.
I cannot recommend Paul highly enough. My kitchen looks fabulous - in fact it looks and feels like a totally new kitchen. To be honest it totally surpassed my expectations. He is clearly very skilled and knowledgeable and will go out of his way to help you achieve the kitchen you want. Paul is punctual, reliable and really friendly. He is worth the wait!
Our kitchen was 25 years old, basically sound but the limed oak in serious need of rejuvenation. We had been advised that the units were of good quality and having recently fitted granite tops a new kitchen was out of the question, not least due to cost. Having researched the options we identified Paul Barber as an appropriate tradesman to paint the kitchen a view confirmed when we realised how much in demand he was, a 4 month waiting list, a fair indication he was good. Paul arrived at the end of February 2018 and explained the process and he followed this accordingly, with us missing doors and drawer fronts for over a week. When they were returned we hardly recognised them. Then came the on-site hand painting of the in-situ shelves, newel posts and architraves which were finished perfectly without the trace of a brush stroke. Paul also advised on the replacement knobs, which he fitted, all 35 of them, as well as carrying out remedial work on door hinges, drawer slides and ill-fitting kick boards. It is an amazing transformation and we feel like we have a new kitchen. We would highly recommend Paul as a genuine craftsman; reliable, thorough and seeking the highest standards of workmanship.
Our kitchen was completed today. It looks like we have had a brand new kitchen fitted!Beautiful attention to detail, extremely good quality finish - it is perfect. Could not be happier.
Best improvement ever!Aug 30, 2017 by Sue StephensWhilst there was nothing really wrong with our kitchen, we wanted to move away from the boring wood and bring our units back to life. We couldn't warrant splashing out on a new kitchen and liked the current layout. Having researched the options I came across the Traditional Painter site which then led me to Paul Barber. My husband wasn't sure about having the kitchen hand painted, however as I had seen the case studies I felt absolutely confident in the process. We did have to wait a few months before Paul could come and paint the kitchen, however I took that as a positive. Paul was in demand! That meant he has to be good! And boy, he was more than good, he is great! He and his son, Paul, completed the most amazing renovation of my kitchen. We could not believe the finish! Hand painted surely must mean brush strokes being seen? Not at all, in fact the finish is so perfect my neighbours thought the kitchen had been sprayed! And it's not just the painting, drawer fronts which had become lose over the years wererescrewed and doors realigned, I have basically a new kitchen. People aretruly amazed at the transformation and we are so delighted with the result. We cannot recommend Paul highly enough. Great workmanship, reliable, a perfectionist and great value for money without compromising quality. Highly recommend his work.
Hi Paul,Just a note to say from the Man’s perspective I am extremely pleased with the final outcome to our kitchen. The transformation is amazing and has certainly exceeded my expectations.A kitchen to be proud of and a cost efficient solution rather than spending double that on a new kitchen. You and your son Paul are very nice guy’s and it was a pleasure to meet you and have you work in our home.In the meantime we will promote your work amongst the neighbors here in the Lamb close community.Until next time.Best Regards.Paul.
After much research, we commissioned Paul to paint and re-handle an oak kitchen in our 18th century cottage. With the work onsite done by Paul the younger and the doors taken to the workshop, the results are superb. I cannot recommend them highly enough, Fantastic craftsmanship delivered on time and on budget linked to great communication. To top it all off, they are both really nice guys and a pleasure to have in our home.
Very happy with the work Paul and his son done on our 18year old limed oak kitchen.. it looks like a new kitchen, at the fraction of the cost..
The work was completed within the time scale and for the price quoted
EXCELLENT service, a great father and son team. Would highly recommend.
Paul painted my tired oak kitchen in 2014. I reviewed this at the time as the results totally surpassed my expectations.
Nearly 3 years on it still looks as good as the day Paul painted it.
We are grateful to Paul for painting our kitchen to a high standard, it has transformed our 28 year old cupboards which now look like new. Thank you Paul.
