Chalon Kitchen Refurbished & Hand Painted, Northants, Beds, Bucks & Herts
This is a short case study of a Chalon kitchen refurbished and Hand Painted in Northampton earlier this year.
This kitchen was installed around 20 years ago in a period Victorian property in Central Northampton, A beautiful hand crafted kitchen from the famous Chalon furniture company with showrooms in the likes of the Kings Road in Chelsea, London. This is the 4th Chalon kitchen we have refurbished and Hand Painted in Northamptonshire in the last few years and and project that we really enjoyed. The Chalon furniture really does require a specialist painting service and also carpentry skills to achieve the showroom finish in these photographs. Thats where our services come into there own, I have been in the painting trade all my working life over 45 years , My son also works on many projects with me and also carrys out his own kitchen refurbishments based in Cambridgeshire he covers the A1 corridor down to the M25 and all surrounding areas.
This started life with the island painted in green, After quite a bit of preparation including easing the doors and drawers refixing the hinges and then a complete sand down to remove all the old chalk paint we then made good and filled any dents and holes before applying the adhesive primer which also acts as an undercoat , Finished with 2 top coats of Tikkurila specialist furniture paint in a satin finish, The colour was Farrow & Ball Moles Breath eqvilent.
The wall cabinets where Finished in Little Green French Grey one of our most popular Greys over the last few years, This was also mixed in a Tikkurila eqvilent match, Tikkurila are able to colour match most colours from the leading paint companies including Farrow & Ball, Little Green Paint Library, Fired Earth, Neptune furniture colours and all the Ral and British standard colours.
On this project we also refurbished the wooden worktops, These where complely sanded back to clean wood to remove the water marks and scratches and dents, we then applied two coats of matt Osmo top oil our preferred choice of finishing oils a lovely long lasting durable finish perfect for kitchens as it is also food safe. New cup handles and knobs fitted completed the transformation.
